| Paragon Precision Inc. specializes in 5 Axis Precision CNC Machining. A 5 Axis Machine can move the cutting tool in 5 axes in relation to the part at the same time. Normal 3 axis CNC machining allows the X (length), Y (width) & Z (height) to move simultaneously, for 5 Axis the other two axes are typically rotation of the part and the angle of the part to the cutting tool as shown in the diagrams below. 5 Axis machining is used for complex contour work such as turbine blades and medical implants, which need simultaneous movement of all 5 Axes to achieve smooth transitions of their complex contours. |
